River Place South

River Place South is one of four independent housing cooperatives collectively known as River Place. Once the preminent apartment rentals of the Washington DC elite, River Place went Coop in 1984 at which time all were afforded ownership of their own apartment in the back pocket of our Nations Capital. Just across the Key Bridge from Georgetown, River Place sits just this side of the GW Parkway overlooking the Potomac River and the fabulous monuments. The views from the South building are some of the best in the DC Metro Area.

We are a gated community with a 24 hour patrol stationed at the entrance. Transportation is a snap. Take the two block walk to the Rosslyn Metro (orange /blue lines), or walk just outside our gates to catch the Georgetown Shuttle or the GUTS (Georgetown University Transit Shuttle). convenient to Regan National Airport (10 minutes by car) or take the metro in via the blue line. Iwo Jima and Freedom Park are just across the street. Enjoy the beautiful Potomac River bike paths and jogging trails or the famous Fletchers boat house just across the Key Bridge along the canal.

Surrounded by the progressive area of Rosslyn, nightlife, theater and restaurants abound. Just a short distance up Wilson Boulevard you find the Clarendon shopping areas and busy markets. We are within walking distance of CVS, Safeway Food stores, Starbucks, Chipotle, US Post Office, and much much more.

Inside the River Place enclave you will even find our own River Place Market, Hair Salon and Dry Cleaners. How convenient! The onsite entertainment/fitness center, renovated 4 years ago, is located in the South Building. Just walk downstairs to do your workout. And just beside the South building you will fine the olympic sized swimming pool, lab lanes, outdoor jacuzzi and pool house.

The River Place Owner's Association maintains and manages the common grounds including the parking, security and patrol officers as well as amenities that include a resort-style swimming pool and outdoor sauna, entertainment & fitness center with indoor sauna and steam room.
